February Author Update

set of contemporary calendars and clips on pink background

Hey guys,

It’s that time again for the latest author news. If you’re new here, welcome!

Every month I try to post twice a month, and one of them being an author update.  Here in my latest author news where I spill the good, bad, and the ugly of what I’m up to. (The other post being something vaguely writing, or fantasy related. 😉 )

Be sure to subscribe to stay up to date. But with all that out of the way, let’s dive in.

Vestige is now on Audiobook!

In case you missed it, Vestige Rise of the Pureblood is available on audiobook on Kobo, BookBeat, Google Play, and Audiobooks.com with more retailers coming soon. Here’s a link to the full list.

This is a huge milestone in my author career and I can’t thank you guys  and my wonderful narrator , Robert Fisher, enough for helping me through it. You can find him on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, under RobertFisherVO as well a on his website above.

Vestige What Lies Beneath

I’m more than happy to announce the second of edition of Vestige What Lies Beneath, book two in the Vestige Saga is out now!

Paperback

eBook

I appreciate all of you in your patience and support as the book was being reworked.

I’m excited to see it back into the world and hope it will find some new readers.

Both eBooks should be 99cents for only a little while longer;)

I’m Taking a Class

Starting the twelfth, I’ll start a new class with the Write Practice until February next year. My hopes is that this will help me expand my reach and continue to sharpen my class. While part of its retreat has me worried what I’ll get from the course, I remain hopeful and ready to write my next book set the world of Vestige.

This is the story plan on using the Shrink rat and skunk owls as well as many other fantastical creatures in the world of Kanaa.

In the short the working premise that it’s about a reborn assassin who must steal an ice phoenix to escape the crime syndicate she once served.

Don’t worry; I don’t plan on going anywhere, but if I don’t respond to comments right away, you know why.

 C.L. Cannon’s Fantasy and Sci-fi Book Fair

The Fantasy and Sci-fi Book fair is still on-going with Vestige Rise of the Pureblood still 99 cents until February 18th, 12AM PST or 3AM EST.

The book fair includes a give-away and varying discounted books throughout the month.

There’s even a couple of other books by self-published authors such as Leigh Roberts (no relation,) and Rebecka Jäger. While I’ve not read either author’s entries, I’ve heard good things.

Here’s the link again to the book fair.

Lafonda and Leo Heroes of the Land

My upcoming middle grade fantasy novel is back on track for publishing. I just need to rework a few more chapters on the self-edit then it’s off to a professional editor and proofreader. I have the two people in mind and have to check their schedules once I have the funds.

Sadly, I hear that post-quarantine it’s a longer waiting game for most authors on this step and cover design.

Which brings up a good point. If any of you have any covers, for inspiration or that you like, especially those who have read the book, don’t be afraid to link me them in the comments below.

Here’s some previews for the story if you’re interested:

Chapter One

Chapter Two

I’m really proud of this one, and hope you’ll check it out.

Future posts

In the coming months I plan to share more snippets of stories and drafts with you. Including:

  • Drafts of the Vestige Saga continuation, Isles of Infection, building off the cliffhanger of book two
  • Rough chapters for a new story I’m working on called Cynder’s Gate, answering the question how would wizardry adapt to the modern world
  • And possibly a third and final chapter of Lafonda and Leo

Also, I might have another fantasy author leaving a guest post. Don’t know if at liberty to say too much, but stay tuned.

Final thoughts

In conclusion, it’s been a busy month and the hits keep coming.

Thank you for reading. You can find me on my Facebook page for even more news as it breaks.

And until next time,

Keep writing!
