Author Update December 2020

narrow road in mountain valley in autumn

Hey Guys,

We made it to December. What a year it’s been! Lots of things scary and new.

For those who may be new, welcome.

I release two articles a month on my blog: one being an update on all my author news, the other ranging from fantasy and sci-fi stories, D&D content, author encouragement, and writing advice. I encourage you to stick around if any of that interests you.

But without a further ado, here’s your latest fill on what I’ve been up to.

Vestige Audiobook

Great news! Production of an audiobook for Vestige Rise of the Pureblood is officially underway.

I heard a fifteen minute sample and was blown away. We made a few tweaks and now the book’s moving forward. I can’t wait for you guys to hear it.

New Projects

Lafonda and Leo Heroes of the Land

My upcoming middle grade fantasy, Lafonda and Leo Heroes of the Land, is getting closer. I set a goal to finish self editing by the day after Christmas, and peck on wood, I’m an entire week ahead.

I hope to share a rough preview of chapter one this month.

Trapezist’s Lullaby

Research seems a big priority on this one. I want this story, and every story, better than the last. Plot ideas wrestle in my head every day. We’ll see which comes out on top.

For now, no spoilers, but I’ve been looking into a lot about bats and Africa for some world-building concepts.

I also plan on giving this story ties to the Vestige world. More teasers are coming.

The Vestige Saga

Hot on the tails of the audiobook, a second edition of Book two What Lies beneath starts soon. I’m excited to put both out, but if I’m honest, sales haven’t been the best.

I still really want to put out book three, but until I can make some money back, I can’t afford it, or justify it.

That being said, I want to share the first few rough chapters I had to those who’d be interested here. I know some of you seemed disappointed, and I want everyone to finish Sinopa’s journey. Maybe this can fill that need in the meantime.

The Facebook Page

Unfortunately, I haven’t kept up with the Kanaa creature catalog posts. Things fell through that I’d banked on, and I apologize.

More of those should come soon, but the images, not so much. For these posts, I’m planning on once a month instead of twice as well. Writing still needs to stay a priority.

Another roadblock, Facebook’s platform bugged up their polls. I tried to post something on Tuesday, and all it gave me was error messages. As far as I can tell, they removed features for pages versus communities.

For newcomers, I post fantasy memes, questions for new books, and update between blog posts. Give it a follow if that sounds cool to you.

The Fallen Creature Catalog was a series of posts journaling the flora and fauna of Kanaa, the world of Vestige. Each post also fields a question so readers and fans can decide details for my next book. This is your chance to vote what you’d like to see and leave your mark on my world.

Last month, we named characters. Next post, who knows?

Promos

Finally, I felt like sharing this.

A fellow SPS alumni, Ladonna Goodman recently published a new fantasy book. Honestly, I’ve yet to finish it, but so far so good. She was really nice to talk to and kind during my launch.

Long story short, here’s a link, go show her some love, if it interests you.

Also, the Active Alumni is ramping up for another anthology release titled: Rearview Mirror. Sorry I don’t much more info than that so far. I’m not in involved. Publishing should be soon.

Final Words

But, that’ll about do it for this month. I’m so glad to get another article out. Just one more and I’ve kept my new year’s resolution!

What do you think guys should we do a victory lap? Four articles this month, lol?

Let me know in the comments if there are any topics you’d like covered here?

Next article should be a sneak preview.

Until then,

Keep writing,

Antonio
