No other book has affected the English language and Western culture than the bible. Arguably more so than Shakespeare and Greek Mythology combined.
I’d like this to be a section for blog posts discussing the books of the bible and the impact its ideas and stories can have on writing. I don’t want this not to be the central focus of my website, but I desire God to be the center of my life. My beliefs are the lenses from which I see the world. Now I’m by no means perfect nor do I claim to be.
All that to be said, I’m acknowledging my bias on the subject. But I feel many people, regardless of what they believe, are missing out on one of the biggest jewels of literature over almost two thousand years.
I can speak for myself that knowing these stories would have help grasp the further meaning of countless and books and poetry over the years. In high school, my AP Literature class expected you to well versed in Shakespeare, Greek Mythology, and you guessed it, the Bible. Sadly, most classmates had never opened a copy and could care less.
My goal in this is to help others and hopefully brighten someone’s life. Maybe I can get others to read this book and experience the living word of God for themselves.
