Celebrate these Peeps!

To wrap up the year like I did the year before, I wanted to close by sharing the achievements of my fellow Active Alumni authors and Mustache Cartelistas and spread the word in case you missed them. Here’s some new books for the new year for anyone looking to read more.

As I’ve mentioned in the past, writing a book is a no easy feat and that’s an incredible understatement, and personally, I feel a lot of us Indies have to look out for each other.

So, here’s to celebrating their success!

Below are links and descriptions of books by some wonderful indie author who have published this year. I also included the Amazon look-inside preview, so you can read a sample for each.

(If I missed anyone or if you want to be featured, please let me know!)

Full disclaimer: I haven’t read everything on this list nor been paid to endorse these books.

Flood of the Fire

Author Evelyn Puerto has released the exciting conclusion to her series, and I couldn’t be more excited to read it myself. She also has an audiobook on the way to her prestigious, award-winning book one in her Outlawed Myth series very soon. In fact, as of the date of posting, the first eBook in the series is currently free. A great way to start reading new books for the new year!

Synopsis of Flood of the Fire from Amazon

An ancient prophecy, now an outlawed myth. A young girl who was never meant to be born. An empress determined to bring peace at any cost.

Tereka successfully led her friends to escape a prison camp, outwit pirates, and make a home as fugitives in the wilds. But the knowledge that someday her relentless foes will track them down drive her to make good on her promise to topple the rulers of her land—starting with her evil aunt Juquila.

Then an invading army conquers the southern part of Tlefas, and Tereka’s hopes raise. Could the invader be the Desired One of prophecy? Or does he bring greater evil to the land? Now she is forced to determine her role in the turmoil that sweeps the country. The wrong choice could prove to be deadly for her—and the peoples of two warring nations.

Of Scales and Fur: Rocket

Another fantasy book that dropped this year brings a different take of dragons and “demi-wolves,” and I’ve enjoyed seeing how the characters have developed in this series so far.

Introducing Of Scales and Fur: Rocket, the second in the exciting of Scales and Fur series by John King.

Synopsis of Of Scales and Fur: Rocket

She must defend humanity; but how can she save it from itself.

Rocket was bred to save the world. Born a dragon to protect humans from the cruel and evil demi-wolves, Rocket once believed that humans could do no wrong.

But now a conspiracy has been revealed; and the beings Rocket once saw as saints worthy only of protection and love are now revealing the monsters that dwell within their hearts.

In order to fulfill her duty, Rocket must turn avowed enemies into reluctant allies, shine light on the shadows of deception, and save humanity from its greatest and most dangerous foe: itself.

My Best Gamble: Brianna’s Story (My Best Series Book 4)

This last story is not a sci-fi or fantasy but is instead a heartfelt women’s fiction tale. This year, Author Carole Wolfe released book four in her “My Best Series” series. Her book one has a whopping 170 reviews at the time of posting and some notable praise, so I’m told, even releasing the audiobook on other retailers outside of audible.

Synopsis of My Best Gamble: Brianna’s Story

She feels all alone. But with so many selfish jerks out to use her, can one feisty female make her mark on the world?

Brianna Thompson desperately needs to start over. Fleeing her latest bad choice in men, she bets it all on a move to Las Vegas in search of an emotional reset. But after a roommate steals all her money and possessions, her fresh beginning looks like a devastating end.

Landing a job helping women and children in need, Brianna finds meaning in supporting others. But when an old flame returns and someone at work sets her up to take the fall for missing funds, she fears her bold play may have already crapped out.

Can she reclaim her self-respect and demand life treat her fairly?

My Best Gamble is the fourth book in the My Best Series of heartfelt women’s fiction novels. If you like determined heroines, chaotic twists, and the power of unexpected friendships, then you’ll love Carole Wolfe’s inspiring tale.
