April 2022 Author Update

body of water between green leaf trees

Hey Guys,

Welcome to another update.

This one’s a bit brief this month.

What’s next?

The short story/novelette Amorphous Love should return from my editor fairly soon. Once that’s ready, it will need a cover and my plan involves a formal eBook launch.

Also, I hope to give a copy to anyone in the Mustache Cartel who wants one.

Afterwards, I plan to edit my work in progress while continuing, albeit it slower, on my current novella.

What am I writing now?

As I’m in the waiting game, I’ve been writing a novella involving a secretary in Narcopolis (the same setting as my finished WIP) who must assemble a rag-tag band of misfits for a mysterious Don who has her sister.

If I’m honest, some self-doubt is creeping in here, and it’s become hard to keep at this one, but I’m trying to stay focused. I would like to publish this year.

Current word count for The Gathering of Misfits presents The Muscle runs a healthy approximately 16,000.

How’s my work in progress?

Votes came back for the title, yet I may run another poll closer to launch. The Hollow Death of Belladonna Bates, while intriguing, I found this week doesn’t really roll off the tongue. I don’t know, but we will see. If I do, it will be a poll of only the previous top three.

I hope to tidy up a few things, then send the story off to its first editing pass before some beta readers. This story has been incredibly involved and I REALLY want to ensure I get it right. I appreciate your patience.

Currently, I feel better about a few things with it thanks to two of my author friends. For now, it will remain a standalone after their advice, but things will take time.

Big sale coming!

All my eBooks on Amazon will go on sale starting this Tuesday the 26th.

Please be sure to spread the word and pick up a copy if you see anything you like. Everything will be 99 cents.

SPFBO#8

The Self-published Fantasy Blog Off (SPFBO#8) begins soon, where established fantasy reviewers critique the cream of the crop. If you know any fantasy author who’d like to join or is well written, spread the word. Once the admissions open, they tend to fill within 24 hours.

I will not be taking part this year but may again participate in the future. I want redemption. Just not now.

Concluding remarks

Thanks again for all your patience with more stories coming out.

Like I said, Amorphous Love is in the works, then the pipeline stems from there.

Until next time,

Antonio
