October Author Update

Hey Guys,

Welp, fall is officially upon us and it’s time for another update.

The Vestige Saga

My editor should finish her mark up of Vestige Rise of the Pureblood soon.

After some feedback from the SPFBO judges and your encouragement, I decided to give it another pass. Following that, I might give it one final proofread before passing it to audiobook production. I’m not sure after all of this if there’s any back of house business like new copyright or ISBNs I have to handle, but I’m taking it one step at a time.

The Fall Contest

Short Fiction Break recently emailed the results of reader’s choice for their fall contest. I haven’t had time to read it yet, but here’s a link if you’re interested. The winner’s circle’s still to come. Fingers crossed. Here’s my entry. I feel proud of it, win or lose.

New Projects

In other news, my middle grade fiction, “Lafonda and Leo: Heroes of the Land,” is almost wrapping up. I’m not sure whether I should keep moving forward towards the original ending or bend it to the audience’s expectations. I really don’t want to disappoint anyone who stuck with it that far. My worry is tying up loose ends, yet it still being a satisfying conclusion. It’s difficult to talk about without spoiling it, so I guess it’s best to not.

Admittedly, I don’t feel the best about endings.  The one I’m the most confident in is Book two in the Vestige Saga. But I’ve heard a few remarks saying the pace picks up too much, so to each their own.

New Tavern Post?

Beyond that, I’m slowly getting over world-builders’ disease. I spent way too much time prepping for my D&D world and bought too much dice, lol. I’d be interested to share if anyone’s interested.

It takes place on the other side of the continent in the Vestige Saga’s setting. So if you’ve heard talk of Sonia being from Geneva Paradiso, think to the south of that, and on some islands off the coast. It’s been a pirate themed adventure.

That’ll about do it for the news. If there are any topics you want me to research/hear about, give me a shout in the comments.

I had an article planned, but I didn’t like how it was going. So I’m thinking of posting some example characters for those looking for inspiration or last minute D&D NPCs. I’ll try to keep you guys up to date when the contest results come out. If they follow precedent, it should be a week or two.

Until next time.

Keep writing!

Antonio
