Contests, contests, contests

Hey Guys,

So I’d thought I’d catch you all up on the news.

Contest updates

The Summer Writer Contest winners have still yet to be announced. Hopefully, in a few weeks, we’ll have a winner. The reader’s choice was awarded to the lucky Bisan Mourad for “Till the Last Breath.”  Let me know what you guys think of his story in the comments. I have mixed feelings. To spare you the rant, I’ll let you make your own opinions.

I’m still crossing my fingers that my story will stand out, but I can’t hold my breath. I doubt I stand a chance, but it was still a fun opportunity.

Meanwhile, the Self-published Fantasy Blog-off (SPFBO)’s is still going strong. There have been lots of interviews in the community, and the judges are slowly whittling down the competition. Last I heard, I wouldn’t hear back from them until August. It’s been great publicity for Vestige regardless of whether I when or lose. Whether this publicity will translate into sales is any one’s guess so far, but I hope so.

New projects

Currently, I’m excited about all the possibilities for Sinopa’s story to continue. I think you will be surprised and are going to love it. Sinopa’s on her way to seek consul with the Oracle. Little does she know the evil she carries with her, and the Order’s defector.

Starting the fifteenth, book one will be on sale. So if you know anyone who’s interested in fantasy, give them a shout. I’d much appreciate it. The eBook will be 99 cents, less than a cup of coffee, but only for a limited time. Then it will rise back to full price.

As far as other books, “Lafonda and Leo: Heroes of the Land” is still giving me problems. I’m halfway through and hate the pacing. How to fix it is the question. In retrospect, I feel I lost sight of my original vision for the story and need to either rekindle it or shelf the story for now.

Covid-19 obliviously hasn’t helped my work schedule. My routine is thrown out the window, and I had to put off getting some health issues addressed which had already been pushed aside to finish the book.

The good news, it was nothing serious, and my writing is back on a routine. Peck on wood.

I hope to give you all a taste soon. I’ve already tried several times to post on Write Practice to show some progress, but I keep running to problems with the site for some reason. Technology hates me, lol.

Housekeeping

In case you haven’t noticed, I updated a few features of the site and how you can share content. The goal was to make it faster, easier, and appealing to look at.

The Tavern’s still wavering on the chopping block with The Well. But as of right now, filming for YouTube has been harder than expected. Mostly in the time management area because writing takes the front seat. So they are safe for now.

Most pages have already received a facelift save The Well and the home page. And let’s face it, the Home page is overdue.

In other news, Evelyn Puerto is out there killing it with her book, “Flight of the Spark,” and is competing for the book of the month on Long and Short Reviews. So if you liked her book, be sure to vote and show her some love. And if you haven’t checked her book out, please do. It’s something to consider especially with all its praise. I enjoyed it.

Also, fellow SPS Alumni and SPFBO competitor Skye Horn published the second book in her series and I wish her the best of luck. Here’s a link in case you’re interested. It was on sale last I checked, but I haven’t read it yet.

Closing Remarks

So that’s about all the news. Be sure to leave any questions you may have in the comments, or check out the Facebook page.

Until next time, keep writing.

Antonio
